The Herds

We are proud to announce that Ukwanda Puppets and Design Arts Collective will be joining ‘The Herds' as they travel with life-sized animal puppets from Kinshasa to Norway.

CHR resident artists, Siphokazi Mpofu, Luyanda Nogodlwana and Sipho Ngxola were part of the commission to design and develop the prototypes for ‘The Herds’, and are now leading a masterclass in Kinshasa as they prepare to embark on their journey from the Equator to the Arctic Ciricle.

‘The Herds’ launches in the Democratic Republic of Congo on 9 April. It is a project of the Walk Productions under the artistic director Amir Nizar Zuabi who gained international recognition for his leading role in bringing Little Amal to the attention of millions of people around the world.
