The Herd: The CHR’s Ukwanda joins a global project on climate change
Centre for Humanities Research (CHR) resident artists, Ukwanda Puppets and Design Arts Collective have been commissioned to design and develop the prototypes for The Herd, a world-first public arts intervention on climate change.
The Herd is a project of the Walk Productions under the artistic director Amir Nizar Zuabi who gained international recognition for his leading role in bringing Little Amal to the attention of millions of people around the world. The Herd is set to animate and educate communities across the 20,000km expanse of its movement.
The CHR is proud to host this project and to develop research partnerships with graduate students at the University of the Western Cape, on a question that now has very serious planetary implications.
