On Tuesday 24 September 2024, the CHR took part in the Boschendal Heritage Day festivities, which involved puppet making workshops with school learners, and a giant puppet parade through Boschendal farm.
Through the years the annual parade and performance in Barrydale has brought together artists, scholars, researchers and publics not only from across Barrydale and Cape Town, but nationally and internationally as well.
Rehearsals are full steam ahead in Barrydale for the 2022 Puppet Performance and Parade created and produced by members of the CHR and aesthetic education partner, Net vir Pret.
The 2017 annual meeting of the Consortium of Humanities Centers and Institutes (CHCI) explored the multiple ways in which improvisation has enabled and facilitated the study of the humanities, not least in times of great social upheaval.

The Community Arts Project (CAP) Collection was acquired by the CHR at UWC in 2009 through a donation from the Arts and Media Access Centre (AMAC), which had previously operated as CAP. The collection consists of various bodies of visual work, including paintings, drawings, sculptures, posters, prints and photographs.
