This Humanities in Session series is based on the Nepal Picture Library and the Feminist Memory Project by NyanTara Gurung Kakshapati. NayanTara will provide context for the public history work at Nepal Picture Library. She will also share selections from the Feminist Memory Project (FMP) – a research project that gathers photos and other materials to create a visual archive of feminist experiences in Nepal.

NayanTara Gurung Kakshapati lives and works in Kathmandu, Nepal. She is the co-founder and artistic director of photo.circle, Nepal Picture Library and PhotoKTM – platforms and initiatives that nourish image-making, history-telling, and dialogic engagements with diverse publics. NayanTara is committed to creating possibilities for people who think, make, speak and organize.
