Fadi A. Bardawil is assistant professor of contemporary Arab cultures in the Department of Asian Studies and Middle East Studies at Duke University. As part of the Other Universals Consortium in 2020, he delivered a webinar on “Radical Disenchantment,” available to view on our website. Bardawil spoke to the themes of his monograph Revolution and Disenchantment: Arab Marxism and the Binds of Emancipation (Duke, 2020), which excavates the long-lost archive of the Marxist organisation Socialist Lebanon and its main theorist, Waddah Charara.
