Current Fellows: History Department, Honours
Having just completed my undergraduate degree, I look forward to starting my honours degree in History with a focus on Visual and Forensic History. I was afforded the opportunity to take part in the Forensic History Project reading group in 2015. Here I was introduced to the work of various scholars writing on those individuals who were declared missing during and after the liberation struggles in South Africa and elsewhere. The TRC’s labelling of missing persons and the processes of their exhumation were striking to me, particularly through the work of Nicky Rousseau and Katherine Verdery. I am interested in exploring the intersection of Visual and Forensic History for my Honours research project.
