Lee Walters


Co-convener of International Partnerships / Department of Women and Gender Studies, PhD

Lee Walters is completing her PhD on Labour Dynamics and Subject Formation in South Africa’s Cultural Industries in the Women’s and Gender Studies Department, University of the Western Cape. Walters is a fellow at UWC’s Centre for Humanities Research, where she also works as the Co-convenor for International Partnerships. She has held curatorial and management positions at several art institutions, including the southern African chapter of Pro Helvetia Swiss Arts Council, and UJ Arts at the University of Johannesburg. In 2021 Lee was a visiting scholar in virtual residency at the University of Minnesota’s Interdisciplinary Center for Global Change.
