Pro-Vocation: Roots and Wings
Pro-Vocation: Roots and Wings was developed in partnership with the UNIMA Professional Training Commission, the UNIMA Africa Commission, and UNIMA SA, and included participants from Mali, Ghana, Cote D’Ivoire, Togo, Tunisia, Kenya, Uganda, Burundi, India, Spain, France, Switzerland, Ireland, Argentina, Beiging amongst others.
The conference convened a series of lectures, panel discussions, workshops, and performances, attended by one hundred delegates. Crucial, was the laying out of a trans-continental training programme under the auspices of UNIMA Africa and with the guidance of puppetry luminaries such as Yaya Coulibaly from the Sogolon Theatre Company, Bamako, Mali. Amongst those present was Soro Badrissa (UNIMA Africa President), Phylemon Odhiambo (Kenya Institute of Puppet Theatre), Gilbert Agbevide (Association KAdam-KAdam, Togo), Eraste Mandera (Burundi), Facinet Cheikho Coulibaly (Sogolon Theatre Mali), Tito Lorefice (Universidad National de San Martine), Pavel Štourač (Academia Demetri), Kata Csató (UNIMA Umanitas Comission, Hungary), Izabela Brochado (University of Brazilia), Amos Fergombe (Université Polytechnique Hauts-de-France), David Grant (Queen’s University, Belfast), Alessandra Amicarelli (Digital Animation Lecturer, Animateria), Emanuelle Castang (Editorial Coordinator, MANIP), Mandiseli Masetti (Indawo Yobomi Centre for Life), Janni Younge (UNIMA South Africa), Aja Manerweck (CHR), amongst a host of others.
